Edinburgh Short Film Festival's blogWelcome to The Edinburgh Short Film Festival, Edinburgh’s newest film event. Derived from the hugely successful Leith Short Film Festival, the Edinburgh Short Film Festival will carry on the mission to screen high-quality UK & International short films alongside excellent local talent. The Leith Short Film Festival has been running since 2005 and has attracted large audiences and much critical attention from filmmakers around the world. We have screened films from India, Argentia, Somalia, Iraq, Iran, Germany, Norway, France, Italy, Spain, Holland, Portugal, Albania and from all over Britain. Submissions have even been received from a Navajo Reservation. Every year we also attract filmmakers to the festival and hold great networking events. We are also running some invaluable and inexpensive film workshops aimed at developing skills and providing insights and techniques for grass-roots film-makers. The festival will take place in early June 2012, dates and times to be confirmed.
