Still under the enthusiastic control of festival director V...

30 July: Day 6 The second last day of DIFF was my best day of all. I saw four films and they all have one thing in common - queer cinema - although the content is very different. I don't know if these films were scheduled on the same day intentonally or by accident. I, however, was very surprised to see that the inaugural Durban Pride parade also took place on this day with the gay flag draped over City Hall. I see myself as an afficionado of gay cinema and could not wait for the films ...

Julien Balmer : Director of the Phangan Film Festival (Thailand)

Balmer is a film-maker himself. He envisions that the Phangan Film Festival will become a larger event including music, dance, discourses - a festival in celebration of the human spirit of sorts, where people meet and connect on a deeper level than is usual at regular film fests.

Phangan Film Festival

Now in its third year, Thailand's Phangan Film Festival 2010 is beginning to attract an audience from further afield.
