The festival's main purpose of existance is create alternative venues for
watching South African produced films as well as films from Africa and the
world. Use film as tool to empower peoples lives towards nation building and
township regeneration. Foster the development of of audiences for the
appreciation of independently produced film products. Contribute to the
growth of a film industry in Ekurhuleni.
Increase an interest for pursuing as a career. Showcase and exhibit films through
Ekurhuleni Film Festival. Develop new audiences and create a cinema friendly
culture for locally (South African) produced films within Ekurhuleni and the
the surrounding areas.
We are a community of musicians and film-makers on a path to create as many quality films and music videos as we humanly can. So far, since Diminished Frame's inception in June 2011, we have shot 5 music videos, released 2, and more are sure to come.

Welcome to the first stage of the 16th Encounters International Film Festival due to take place in Bristol from 16-21 November 2010. This year sees the return of Animated Encounters and Brief Encounters as our 2 competitive strands.
In 2009 over 150 films were screened in competition over 5 days to over 500 delegates and 6,500 audience members. The films and animations were a selection of the best new drama, comedies, music videos, documentaries and animation from 58 countries.
