Africa in Motion is already in its sixth year! The profile of the festival has grown steadily since the inaugural season in 2006 and this year, 2011, Africa in Motion focuses its attention on films and events that open doors to children and youth in Africa.

Our programme of films and events deals with many aspects relating to youth, such as education, entertainment, stories and myths, the future, and social issues affecting children and young people in Africa.

This year we made a special effort to invite schools and children to the cinema and we are screening a number of films especially for primary and secondary schools in and around Edinburgh, in collaboration with National Schools Film Week.

Alongside the film screenings, the festival has endeavoured to create fun and challenging workshops and events for Scottish children to really engage with the lives and experiences of their African counterparts and get to learn the stories best known to them.

The rest of the festival will be dedicated to our well-known quality films: epic features, contemporary gems, incisive documentaries, acclaimed shorts and animation films, with a continuing focus on children and youth in Africa.

The International Young Audience Film Festival Ale Kino! has been founded for young and very young people who treat the cinema as a journey into the unknown, a challenge and a thrilling adventure. It shows films which avoid cultural and commercial clichés. Each year, there are a number of films for children and young people which, thanks to their sincerity, artistry and original outlook on the world of the young generation, escape excessive didacticism or mindless entertainment. The mission of the Festival is, first of all, enabling young audience to see films like this and promoting artistic cinema for children and young people.

The San Francisco Film Society and the New York International Children's Film Festival present the first NY/SF International Children’s Film Festival, a three-day celebration of diverse, enlightening, inspiring and entertaining films for kids ages 3–18 and their families, September 24–26 at Landmark’s Embarcadero Center Cinema. NY/SFICFF features short, feature, animated and documentary films from around the world with filmmaker guests in attendance, a special Opening Night party and an interactive director’s workshop.

Genre: Children and youth - All public Films and productions made for children and youth, Films and productions about children and/or dealing with childhood, Films made by children, youth and audiovisual students. We invite directors of all ages to submit your children and youth productions and participate in the 15th edition of the Barcelona International Audiovisual Festival (FIAB) to be held November 14 - 18, 2011. As always we are interested in documentaries, animations, video-games, TV programmes and series from around the world that form, entertain and educate. Since this year's theme is music, we are especially interested in materials linked to it and focusing strongly on the musical background. There is no entry fee and we offer the prestigious UNICEF PRIZE and CREATIVE PRIZE. Screenings include productions of the Audiovisual Service of the Department of Education of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia and the SHOWCASE OF NEWS BULLETINS; COMMERCIALS AND FICTION VIDEOS from the Blanquerna School; Ramón LLull University. This is a good opportunity for filmmakers and production companies to showcase their work in Spain and share it with enthusiastic young audiences along with media professionals from all over the world. Every year we collaborate with educators so that groups of school children get to see a wide range of international films that are 90 minutes or less that they may not otherwise be able to access. We request that films that are not in Spanish be subtitled in Spanish or English.

The 5th annual San Francisco Bay Area International Children`s Film Festival showcases short live-action and animated films from around the world made for children. The festival takes place April 1 - April 10, 2011 at WonderCon at the Moscone Center, and the Children's Discovery Museum in San Jose. We seek short films made for children, 20 minutes RT or less. SILVER SHARK Festival is held in Ukraine annually, since 2001, with a view to popularising underwater art and recreation and involving wide public in solving enrironmental problems and investigating the World Ocean.

SILVER SHARK International Underwater Art Festival is organised by Kiev Group of Companies "Silver Shark" with support of Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine and Honourable President of the World's Festival of Underwater Image in the city of Marseile Daniel Mercier (France).
