About the Director:

Jaime de Armiñan is a prolífic artist, central to the Spanish popular culture of the last half century. To summarize its ample production is an impossible task, considering that his work encompasses writing and directing for theater, cinema and television, as well as publishing on the press, novels, memoirs, etc. At the end of the 50’s he won both of Spain’s most prestigious theater awards, the Lope de Vega and the Calderón de la Barca. Soon he began to write for television. He is amply recognised in Spain as a tv pioneer and his talent generated some of the most memorable creations of this media: from Historia de la Frivolidad, Tiempo y hora, Las doce caras de Juan, las doce Caras de Eva, Suspiros de España to Una gloria nacional or Juncal. They are fondly remembered and gathered a good number of prizes at Montreux, Monaco, and other specialised festivals. Three of his films won Oscar nominations (Mi querida Señorita, El nido y La hora bruja). These films, and later productions like El amor del capitán Brando, El otro lado del túnel, Stico… circulated widely trough the festival circuit and won prizes at Berlin, Montreal, etc.

Camila Ponte, a writer of Argentinian origin, is on an exhausting promotional tour for her first novel, a huge success. A mysterious woman, Vega, approaches her after a long and boring press conference and leads her out to a strange establishment, a hotel built over an old convent of franciscan monks. What follows is the story of a kidnapping for which there is neither a ransom asked, nor date of liberation, and on which the victim seems to agree. Camila soon discovers that Vega is not who she seems to be. A complex relationship develops between the two women. One that goes trough suspicion and distrust to love and hatred, from violence to tenderness We will finally learn she is seeking a retribution that will help her heal very deep wound. ¿Who will emerge as a winner? A hint: One of the opponents takes the name of a lady of the night, a vampire who has the habit of feeding on other people’s blood... Camila
