The APICA wishes to highlight island sensitivities from all over the world through their audiovisual and cinematic creations, by gathering them around a unique event: The International Festival of Short Fiction Films from the Islands of the World, Courts des îles.
The International Film Festival of Popular Science and Cultural History in Szolnok Hungary (17-20 October 2013) provides a forum for such distinct films which can somehow, in some way be connected to science or cultural history: which are about some scientific result or work, or in its action, language and presentation give place to science, or aspects of cultural history.T

The A.D.D. Short Film Festival will be taking place in Cleveland on Saturday May 7th at a rock 'n' roll bar called Now That's Class (located at Detroit Avenue & W.114th). It's a little DIY film fest celebrating microcinema that will feature low-budget / no-budget, amateur, underground, & student works. The ADD Fest is now accepting submissions! There is no entry fee and you can submit as many films as you want. All submissions should be under thirty minutes in length and should be sent on DVD to: 761 E. 254th Street; Euclid, OH 44132 along with contact information and a brief description of the film (100 words or less). The !f Istanbul International Independent Film Festival was founded in 2001 and every February and March, it hosts some 70,000 film buffs and celebrated filmmakers from around the world. !f Inspired- designed to showcase emerging directors who are taking film in new directions. The competition carries a $15,000 prize for the Most Inspired Director.
"Women`s Worlds" takes place every year for one week around the 25th of november - the international day "NO to violence against Women" in Tübingen. The focus lies on the life of women worldwide. Most of the films are attended by directors or experts.
The films will be evaluated by a professional jury. The works selected by the pre-jury for competition will be presented at open screenings in the presence of the creators the audience and the jury. The films not selected for the competitions will be presented at informative screenings. The jury give prizes (I., II., III.) in three categories: short feature film, experimental film and documentary and it has special prizes as well. The jury will remunerate the works of the film university students in a separate category.
The best of the photos on the decision of the pre-jury will be exhibited in the Uránia National Film Theatre. The prizes will be handed over at the prize-giving ceremony of the film festival.
ONE MINUTE ONE SHOT
1. The film presented must be one minute long (60sec. without titles).
2. The work must be shot in one frame. Shots cannot be cut, combined or mixed into one.
3. Multiplication in animation (multi shots) is not against the rules as it is a production technique. However direct editing /cuts in different scenes/ shots (close up - middle, etc) are not allowed.
4. The titles must be 10 seconds long and must be placed at the beginning of the one minute film. Besides original language, English subtitles are required.
5. The author is free to express his/her ideas and views in any form and genre.
