Detroit Windsor International Film Festival, going up on June 25-28, 2009!

As much as Workforce Development Conference as Film event, we provide a focus for our production community, promoting our collective resources to a world market.  With an enormous amount of film activity taking place in Michigan this year, the DWIFF provides a fun, real way for our community to come together and show the world what we have to offer.

Last year, the 2008 Inaugural Detroit Windsor International Film Festival set some
great precedents and a solid foundation to build on for year two.  As
you know, the first year was the proof.  Now, the real work begins!
DWIFF 2009 is already underway and is scheduled for June 25-28, 2009.

There is a lot to accomplish in the next few months, and the DWIFF is
looking for enthusiastic and driven people to kick start our
Sponsorship Drive for 2009.

Promoting Sponsorship is much easier after such a successful first
year!  And the DWIFF is at "ground zero" for Detroit's exploding
Creative Community and film industry.  With Wayne State University, the
College for Creative Studies and the University of Windsor already on
board, we plan an even more exciting lineup of films and activities
that appeal to artists, video professionals, film directors, students,
veterans, mediamakers and film lovers!

As a non-profit corporation and totally volunteer-run event, we rely
on the community to help support our efforts, with their time and
sponsorships.  The DWIFF provides a great opportunity to the
organizations who understand the value of supporting a cultural event-
especially one that represents an emerging industry for Michigan!

Bringing a world class film festival to our city is essential to
building up our arts and film culture.  The DWIFF will literally
attract thousands of people who love film and entertainment.  This
event added a whole new type of ambience and draws interested people
downtown to celebrate the art of film!  Director John Kelly says, "We
need committed people who understand the value of building our film and
arts culture.  That's what DWIFF is all about."

The film festival is anchored by the unique CineFlow TechFair, an intimate
exhibition of new technologies, workshops, guest speakers, a job fair
and great networking opportunities for people working in the trade.  This give people a look at film "from behind the screens".
