Enjoy here the best of both worlds: Portal with Film & Fest News and Social network for the festival community.
Since 1995 we connect films to festivals and document the world of festivals worldwide. We offer the most comprehensive festival directory of 6 000 festivals, browse festival blogs, film blogs...and promote yourself for free.
Simply put, we're setting out to get deserving filmmakers noticed.
Beneath the Earth is an online film festival created out of the idea that the Internet has given us new power to influence what content gets consumed and who's visible. We're already seeing it happen in music where musicians are discovered through the followings they create online. And now we'd like to see it happen for film and use this new-found power to shine the light on the little guy who's created something beautiful but hasn't been able to cut through the red Hollywood tape.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL To shine the light on emerging talent, we've comprised our Grand Jury of film reviewers who not only love film but are highly vocal in the digital space. Together their sites reach over 1.1 MILLION people each month.
In addition to a cash prize, the winner of the Best Film in each category will receive the opportunity to have their film reviewed by our Grand Jury who will publish the reviews on their sites. The desired result is we instigate word-of-mouth and create buzz that's invaluable to an up-and-coming filmmaker.
Beneath the Earth is an online film festival that's using the Web to get deserving filmmakers noticed.
We know that film relies heavily on word-of-mouth. No matter how big a film's advertising budget, if people aren't talking about a movie, tickets won't sell. So unlike other festivals, we've comprised our Grand Jury of film reviewers (who collectively reach over 1.1 Million people each month) with the goal of getting the Web talking about the winning films.
We collate the Grand Jury reviews for our winners to include in their press kits.
Being online means your film is viewed by a global audience. Our site visitors come from 90 different countries.
If selected as a finalist, your film will only be showcased online for a limited time, 31 days to be exact, a window small enough to still allow for distribution.
