About Sunscreen Film Festival

The Sunscreen Film Festival supports independent filmmakers, producers and actors through its yearly presentation of films, educational seminar series and Q&A panels.  The festival is organized by the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Film Society, which is dedicated to educating the public about the art of visual storytelling, enhancing opportunities for local filmmakers to develop their craft and art, and increasing the public’s awareness and support of local filmmaking as a cultural and economic asset. 

 

Voted one of the 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the Country by MovieMaker Magazine in 2009.  Sunscreen always brings in talented Hollywood professionals as a part of the festival’s mission.

In addition to screening great films the festival puts on panel discussions, actor and filmmaking workshops, charitable fundraising events, student film showcases, economic development planning sessions and of course outstanding parties.
