Richard Zanuck: Mogul by trade

Road to Perdition

Oscar winning producer Richard Zanuck hit "the Road" at 77 years old.

remember very vividly the first time I met Richard Zanuck. We were in Deauville at the American Film Festival to premier "Road to perdition". He was flanked by his son and Tom Hanks.

No matter how accomplished I may be in my career, the little Frenchie who dreamed of making films, and meeting her idols, is still very much part of who I am today.

Even though I can't say I was starstruck, I was in complete awe. Here they were! The heroes of my childhood! Richard Zanuck was a legend of epic proportion in my eyes. I was very impressed by how sharp, intelligent, and knowledgeable he was. He remains an inspiration for anyone aspiring to succeed in the film industry. That was a real treat for the little Frenchie who was regaled by Zanuck's movies.

It is a special memory, which I shall always cherish.
