Trouble in Retirement Village – Are Underfunded Pensions the Next Financial Crisis? Article by Sharon Abella

Unknown-5_0.jpeg

As a freelance journalist and social commentator with a strong desire to raise awareness and improve the world around us, I feel I have been out in front of a number of groundbreaking and controversial topics. I have interviewed some of the world’s most experienced and brightest thought leaders about various polemical concerns.

Given my interest in the media and entertainment industry, my particular interest in these topics is to explore how current events impact what we ultimately see in television and film.

In my next article, I tackle a topic that concerns each one of us nationwide (whether you are covered by a so-called defined-benefit plan or not):PENSIONS.

My father, Frank Abella, Jr., CEO of Investment Partners Group, has been studying the issue of the underfunding of state pension plans extensively over the past year, so I decided to interview him to get some more insight.
