“Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted in 3-D” Article by Sharon Abella, www.1worldcinema.com

“They can take the animals out of the animals, but they can not TAKE the ANIMALS out of the ANIMALS!”

Most of the time I am disappointed in the 3-D effects in most movies. They are usually not very vivid and I think to myself the studio just wanted to charge more money, however, this is NOT the case with “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.”  In this computer-animated comedy, the 3-D effects are brilliant, and worth the price difference.

What happens when a lion, a hippo, a zebra, and a giraffe’s plane breaks down on the way from Monte Carlo to New York, and are stuck in Europe?  Join the circus, of course!  The voice of Ben Stiller, as Alex the lion,  Chris Rock, as Marty the Zebra, David Schwimmer, as Melman, the giraffe, and Jada Pinkett Smith, as Gloria the hippo, meet a traveling circus who are on their way to Rome. Vitaly, a tiger who has lost his confidence after an act had gone wrong is now bitter, and reluctant to invite the down on their luck animals along.  Lucky for the crew that Stefano, a happy Italian sea lion, will do whatever it takes to keep the show going,  convincing Alex that if the gang can entertain the crowd in Rome, they will all be asked to travel on to New York City!  Will the comical bunch make it back home to the best city in the world?  Watch them literally and figuratively tumble and fall and find out!  Film fun for everyone!
