NYTVF's blogThe New York Television Festival is the first creative festival of its kind, offering producers, writers, and directors the unprecedented opportunity to showcase their independently produced television pilots directly for network executives and general audiences. Since its first year in 2005, the Festival has received hundreds of original television pilots and scripts from independent producers and has helped them get deals with major networks, official representation, and industry recognition. The NYTVF hosts a variety of script and television pilot contests throughout the year, and the annual Festival in September offers a number of free screenings, production workshops, parties, panels, happy hours, and red-carpet premieres of new fall shows.
