NEWFILMMAKERS NY SERIES

The NewFilmmakers series, which selects films and videosoften overlooked by traditional film festivals, began in 1998 and over the pasttwelve years has screened over 600 features and 2,000 short films. In 2000 webrought the Havana Film Festival to New York and in 2002 we startedNewFilmmakers Los Angeles. Many well-known films have had their initialscreenings at NewFilmmakers.

NewFilmmakers LA now screens monthly at the Sunset GowerStudio in Hollywood. This year we began NewFilmmakers Online, which givesfilmmakers the opportunity to exhibit and distribute their films directly tothe public.

The NewFilmmakers NY Series screens at Anthology Film Archives on the Lower East Side at 32 Second Avenue & 2nd Street. NewFilmmakers LA screens in the Stanley Kramer Theater at the Sunset Gower Studio. Many features screened at NewFilmmakers are now available on NewFilmmakers Online.

Tickets for the evening at NewFilmmakers NY, are only $6 and are available at the Anthology Box Office the night of screening.

NewFilmmakers began in 1998 & has screened over 400 features & 1400 shorts. Many well known Shorts and Features have had their first screenings such as Blair Witch & Too Much Sleep. Crimson Screen Partners sponsors the national screening series.
