FILMMAKERS BIOGRAPHY

Malcolm Entertainment

Biography

Oscar Sanders from an early age developed an interest in filmmaking. From 1977 to 1980, Oscar made five films with a Super 8 camera. These films starred his friends closest friends and were often enjoyed by family and friends.

Mr. Sanders moved on to become a guitarist for fifteen years for several bands, which toured the United States and Europe. He recorded three albums with the Billy Bang Sextet for Polygram Records in Milan, Italy and ITC Records in West Germany. His musical talents are on display in the documentary, "Rising Cross Tones."

Oscar was a movie extra in feature films: DEEP IMPACT, MEET JOE BLACK, THE YARDS, CELEBRITY, 28 DAYS, THE SIEGE, NBC's LAW and ORDER (The Original), HBO'S OZ, and a NISSAN commercial.

Mr. Sanders caught the filmmaking bug again in 2005 and begun writing and subsequently directing the short film, SPLITTING HAIRS, a police drama about three disgraced homicide detectives looking for redemption.

Splitting Hairs was the official selection of the Night Gallery Film Festival 2006 and Pocono Mountains Film Festival 2006, where it garnered a best short film and best original film nomination. Splitting Hairs has also screened on Blue Ridge Video On Demand.
