Malatya International Film Festival's blog
Malatya that hosts world's oldest palace and king's tomb, hosted its first film festival on the dates between 26.11.2010 and 02.12.2010. The cinegoers in Malatya enjoyed a week full of activities and qualified programmes that are composed of the principal productions screened in the worldwide-known leading film festivals and gained appreciation of the critics and audiences. In the charge of the Malatya Governor, Mr. Ulvi Saran, 2nd Malatya International Film Festival will open its curtains for the cinegoers and residents in Malatya on 18.11.2011 by the organization of Malatya Governorate and Malatya Apricot Research, Development and Promotion Foundation. Besides providing an opportunity for the audiences to meet with the qualified productions from all over the world, the festival will provide an enjoyable week full of activities. This exhausting but pleasant festival marathon will end after the Award Ceremony which will take place on the 24th November, Thursday. During the Festival, approximately 150 films - 65 feature films, together with the documentary and short films - will meet with the cinegoers. The Festival programme which is composed of the current films, as well as the last productions of the qualified film-makers and the first movies of the newly discovered young film-makers, will meet with the audiences in Malatya. The festival with its previous success on the international features and national short films competitions, has included the national features competition to its festival programme in order to provide moral and material support to the cinema sector. Romanian independent cinema at 2nd MIFFRomanian director Gabriel Achim’s ‘ VISUL LUI ADALBERT - ADELBERT’S DREAM’ is one of the films in competition for the Crystal Apricot Award at the 2nd Malatya Film Festival. The film was screened last night at Malatya Park Avsar Cinemas, joined by the director himself, associate producer of Cristian Mungiu's 2007 Golden Palm winner ‘4 MONTHS, 3 WEEKS AND 2 DAYS’, Daniel Burlac, actor Gabriel Spahiu and actress Anca Androne.
In Q&A session, associate and delegate producer of the film Daniel Burlac said “Achim is trying to bring a new perspective to the Romanian Cinema. The film was recently screened at Thessaloniki Film Festival and it was received with a great interest. Although it is a movie that might be difficult to understand, I believe that ‘ADALBERT'IN DREAM’ will be a masterpiece in ten years time.” For the photos from the festival; Address: ftp.malatyafilmfest.org.tr For further information please contact; Ms. Müge Çetinkaya; mugecetinkaya@mediaandevent.com |
