The temptation was great after the 50th anniversary to completely reinvent the Golden Rose. Change it. Start all over again. But we decided against it - and quite deliberately. So fear not a break with the past, there will be no facelift. Rather a fresh new approach. With the 2011/12 edition of the Rose d'Or Festival we are making a new commitment, best explained with our new slogan Global Entertainment Television Festival. The Golden Rose will continue to recognise the best programmes and formats in entertainment television. This has been the case for 50 years, and will always be at the heart of the Rose d‘Or. The Rose d'Or Festival will always stand for originality, quality and creativity in entertainment television. We now offer a continuous source of information on current developments in the world of entertainment television, and a platform through which fellow industry professionals can join us in discussion and debate about our business. The Rose d'Or Festival now lives 365 days a year and offers you the opportunity to look back in time as well. Read more about the beginnings of the Golden Rose in Montreux in 1961, and look forward to more wonderful treasures from our archives. This section will be constantly updated over the coming weeks and months. I wish you the best in entertainment and look forward with you to the 51st Edition of the Rose d'Or Festival in Lucerne.
