The Artist by Michel Hazanavicus leads the awarded films with three wins, best comedy, best actor in a comedy Jean Dujardin and best music.
The Artist was the first french film to receive Best film (comedy)
The Descendant by Alexander Payne received best film and best actor (G Clooney)

The veteran directors were awarded too : Spielberg (best animated film), Scorcese (best film), Woody Allen (best script)
Meryl Streep, best actress as the Iron Lady received her 8th Globe.
