The 2009 Stockholm International Film Festival Jury

The Stockholm International Film Festival now reveals the names of the five people who will decide which film will be presented with the honourable Bronze Horse. This year's jury consists of representatives from the world of film and one member from the Swedish music scene, and is chaired by producer Olivier Guerpillon.

The festival jury presents the festival's honorary award, the 16 lb Bronze Horse, to a film in the Stockholm XX Competition. The jury also presents Aluminium Horses for best directorial debut, best screenplay, best short film, best actor/actress, best cinematography and the newly launched Best Music Award to films in competition.

The jury of 2009 consists of:

Olivier Guerpillon - Producer and Head of the Jury. Olivier is a producer with a background at the French TV-channel Arte and French National Centre for Cinema where he led the Department for National short film support. In 1999, he founded and acted as head of the annual French Film Festival in Stockholm. Since then, Guerpillon has settled his production company and produced awarded short and feature films, as well as French-Swedish co-productions such as CAPTAIN AHAB by Philippe Ramos and GROWN-UPS by Anna Novion. He is currently producing the debut feature (THE SOUND OF NOISE) of two awarded Swedish short filmmakers.
Björn Stein - director. Björn is a Swedish director and editor from Trollhättan, the film capital of Sweden. In 2005, Björn Stein and his colleague Måns Mårlind were awarded the Stockholm International Film Festival's Star Audience Award for their critically acclaimed film STORM. The duo made their way to Hollywood and directed the film SHELTER starring the Oscar nominated and esteemed actress Julianne Moore.

Fionnuala Halligan - Film critique and journalist. Fionnuala has been writing about cinema for almost 20 years, a good deal of that for Screen International, where she was correspondent in Hong Kong and Madrid and now is based in London, editing the weekly magazine and daily website as well as Screen's daily magazines at festivals such as Cannes and Toronto. She started reviewing films for The South China Morning Post in Hong Kong in 1991 and is now one of Screen's main reviewers. She also contributes a film blog to http://www.screendaily.com/.

Lina Englund - Actress. Swedish actress Lina Englund has studied at the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. Her competent résumé covers theatre, theatre production, television, music and cinema. She has been featured in Sweden's most expensive production ever, ARN as well as the celebrated and awarded thriller STORM by Björn Stein and Måns Mårlind. She can currently be seen in the theatre production of Anton Chekhov's THE SEAGULL at the Stockholm City Theatre.

Maria Andersson - Singer. Maria is the lead singer of the Swedish rock band Sahara Hotnights. Their debut EP, Suits Anyone Fine, was released in 1997 to immediate success and critical acclaim in Europe. What If Leaving Is A Loving Thing, is their last album, which is certified platinum and the single Cheek To Cheek, has reached gold status and was the most played song on national radio in Sweden last year. Maria is co-writing all the songs with the drummer of the band, Josephine Forsman.
