The Kosova Cinematography Center (KCC) has joined European Film Promotion (EFP) as a new member organisation. With this decision which was recently taken by the EFP members at the latest General Assembly, the EFP network now unites marketing interests of 33 promotion organisations. The common activities to promote European films and talents worldwide are financially backed by the MEDIA Programme of the European Union and the EFP member organisations. “The EFP membership means more to us than an ordinary admission to a network”, says Fatos Berisha, director of the KCC and EFP representative. “It's a first opportunity for our filmmakers and industry to get concrete professional benefit on an international basis. Through EFP's programmes and activities, our directors, producers, and especially our actors, expect to shine internationally. We are proud to be a member of the organisation that promotes European films and talents globally.” The KCC was established in 2004 as a public funding body in charge of developing the film industry in Kosovo* as regards project development, production, distribution, education and promotion. Kosovo* has registered 65 production companies and has a union of film artists with more than 200 members. Its international film festivals have already established a respectable name for themselves on the regional and international industry map. With various activities, KCC is continuously striving to put the Kosovar film industry on the international radar: For the first time, KCC was present this year with a pavilion at the European Film Market in Berlin and the International Village at Marché du Film in Cannes. Besides promoting new feature films internationally, such as Agnus Dei by Agim Sopi, The Wedding Tape by Ariel Shaban and Donkeys of the Border by Jeton Ahmetaj, KCC enables filmmakers from Kosovo* to visit international film events and supports producers in their networking with distributors as well as interested foreign production companies wanting to co-produce with Kosovo*. “I am happy to welcome the Kosova Cinematography Center to the network of European Film Promotion”, states EFP President Christian Juhl Lemche. “I hope that EFP’s activities can help the Kosovar film industry to promote their films and talents internationally and I look forward to the insight KCC will bring to EFP.” 11.06.2012 | Editor's blog Cat. : Agnus Dei Ariel Shaban Berlin Cannes Cannes Christian Juhl Lemche Director EFP Entertainment Entertainment European Film Promotion European Union Fatos Berisha forward Kosovo Kosovo Person Career president representative Technology Technology The KCC PROS
