East Silver's blogEast Silver is a specialised market in the Central and Eastern European documentary film field. The East Silver market consists of a video-library, catalogue and a specialized on-line database of Central and Eastern European documentary films. The East Silver project is realized because of the co-operation of the International Documentary FilmFestival in Jihlava and Institute of Documentary Film, Prague. East Silver strives to continuously serve as a unique promotional and support tool for Eastern and Central documentary productions by assembling in one place completed documentaries from East European countries, including countries with low AV production capacity, and making them accessible by bringing them to international attention by various means. We shall continue to promote these somewhat overlooked productions in the international marketplace, and make them available to international professionals such as TV buyers, festival programmers, sales agents and distributors, by focusing on the opportunity of being included in program sections of international festivals, presented at international film markets and broadcast on European and international TV stations, consequently making them available to much wider audiences. East Silver, a documentary market specialized in Eastern and Central European documentary, is again open for submissions! Submit your film to the largest internationally recognized database of creative feature and television documentary films from Central and Eastern Europe. Submission Deadline is June 30, 2012. Films submitted before January 10, 2012 will be considered also for East Silver Videolibrary, held within East Doc Platform in March 2012 in Prague. East Silver is now open twice a year: East Silver Videolibrary will be held within the new East Doc Platform, organized by the Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) in Prague, Czech Republic, in March, 6 – 11, 2012, in association with the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival. The 9th edition of the East Silver Market will take place at the 16th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival in October 23 – 28, 2012, Jihlava, Czech Republic Don’t let you film grow old! If you submit your documentary film before January 10, 2012, your film will be considered for the East Silver Videolibrary, held within East Doc Platform, and may benefit from the following bonuses: • No administration fee for films included in the East Silver Videolibrary • Extended online display at East Silver Streaming (from March 2012 to October 2013) • Possibility for the inclusion in East Silver Caravan and access to international film festivals • Possibility to be honored with the East Doc Platform Award • Your submission will remain valid for the 16th Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival 2012 This call is open for completed documentaries produced after January 1, 2011, which were not previously submitted for East Silver market.
