Today a sermon by Jose Mojica Marins at the Grossmann Film and Wine Festival!

The unholy day is upon the beautiful town of Ljutomer, Slovenia! Today at 19:30h at the City Cinema Jose Mojica Marins will proclaim his ghastly gospel at a ferocious Q&A session, hosted by our Vicious Cat Jury President Dinko Tucaković. It will be followed by a vicious outburst of his most spine-chilling films. The first blow will be delivered by the Strange World of Coffin Joe at 21:30h at the Culture House Cinema. Then the carnival of horror will move to the Open Air Cinema at the Main Square.  At 21:00h there will be a screening of the Sundance awarded documentary entitled The Strange World of Jose Mojica Marins by directors Andre Barcinski and Ivan Finotti. It will be followed by the notorious Awakening of the Beast, the movie that was banned for over 20 years and even today it can't be seen in cinemas except at festivals and special screenings. At this year's Grossmann you will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience this rare cult item live and in colour!
At 15:30 this year's Vicious Cats will jump right at you from the dark depths of the Culture House Cinema starting with the ultra-kinetic action rollercoaster Newsmakers by the director Anders Banke and followed by the gruesome The Human Centipede brought to you by the witty Dutch provocateur Tom Six at 19:30h. Sašo Podgoršek's Dark Angels featuring Demolition Group will be tastefully sandwiched in beetween those two roaring tigers at 17:30h. All the authors will of course be present at the screenings and will also let themselves be heard.
For all of you who like the good things in life the sensational Salon of Film and Wine will take place at the Culture House Cinema at 19:00h. This celebration of precious and divine Furmint tastes will be guided by the distinguished enologists Anton Vodovnik and Tadeja Vodovnik Plevnik.
As early as 10:00h you shall be able to enter the sinister domain of the nerve-wrecking Torture Garden. The most brave and daring among you will be able to see 8 ultra-rare and weird films in 12 hours. This will be the only payable screenings at the festival, and the more you see, the less you will pay!
One of this year's Grossmann's biggest hits, the vampire thriller Winepires: The Ice Harvest will have its eagerly awaited re-run at 23:30h at the Main Square.
Music lovers will already at 15:30h be able to see this year's competitors for the Noisy Cat awards at the City Cinema, namely the winemaking documentary Blood Into Wine (which is shown at Grossmann for the first time in Europe) and the short Living on Air, a brief portrait of the man who contributed famous whistles to the soundtracks of Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns.
The fourth batch of the Noisy Cats will start to rumble at 23:00h with the grim and dark black metal documentary Until the Light Takes Us and the inspiring tale of the first ex-Yu lesbian choir entitled God Save Le Zbor. In the meantime, on the other side of town, the fifth noisy block will unleash its fury at the Cinema Hotel Jeruzalem at 21:00h featuring I Need That Record and The Heart is a Drum Machine, another Grossmann's European premiere.
Beetween 17:30h and 19:30h as well as 21:00h and 23:00h the City Cinema will be taken over by Slak's Vicious Cats from the third (Evening Fairytale, Brickloader, Spa, Tropezones, Lutz Heckelmann and His Beer, Bititsch, First Day at a Job, Day of the Dead, Babylon 2084) and the fourth hairy batch (Eastern Army, Law Enforcement 2, Beetween Death and Java, Zorgasm, Attack of the Killer Phone Books).
And that's not all at all! Cinema Hotel Jeruzalem will at 23:00h show the Serbian necro thriller Forbidden Love featuring the Yugoslavian film legend Sonja Savić in her last role.
Since 13:00h all park rangers and prairie explorers are able to join the Grossmann Film and Wine Hiking Tour which takes its merry participants through the beautiful wilderness to the house of birth of Slovenian film pioneer Dr. Karol Grossmann. You will also be able to see Grossmann's famous first Slovenian movies while enjoying magnificent meals and wonderful wines!
Since at Grossmann the sound of party never ends, the night will offer a red hot concert by Slovenian alter rock legends Demolition Group who will take your soul apart and assemble it back again in a way that's more to the liking of the gods of rock'n'roll! Pleasure is inevitable, resistance is futile! Just let yourself go...
