Extremadura is pledging the commitment of
developing sustainable tourism. A tourism able to combine in a perfect balance
the respect for natural environment with the protection of our cultural and
artistic heritage, elements that in our region are very important due to its
wealth and conditions of conservation.

The Birds Festival of Cáceres, organized
by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has also the same philosophy and will
celebrate in 2012 its fourth edition. In a city that is able to harmonize its
World Heritage with the high level of protection for birds in its environment
and Historic Area; and that clearly defends throughout culture and promotion
the different artistic expressions.

That is why this festival is trying not only to show up the ornithological natural resources, important for tourism, and to spread it among the citizen, but also to integrate it like an inspiring element for artists and fans, who represent an important part of the tourists group: photographers, painters and artists have already met in the Monumental City of Cáceres during the festival event.

The First Festival CINEXTUR that will take place for the first time within the framework of this festival tries to be a scenario for the promotion of all those natural elements which will become tourist resources, a place for spare time activities and nature enjoyment.

The objectives established by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism with
the celebration of this Festival are:

• To increase the audience awareness of the environmental diversity and importance that can become the main element for vacation and leisure activities.

• To promote audio-visual productions based on nature.

• To show up the diversity and the Extremeño natural landscape, that has
become the main regional tourist resource based on our sustainable development.

1. The first edition of CINEXTUR will take place
in Cáceres, Spain, from 10th to 12th of May, 2012.

2. SUBJECT: Works which
promote the richness of a territory or an area and how the tourist can be more
aware of this quality. It is not a Festival about environmental protection
projects but projects that promote the value of natural resources, landscape
and environmental richness, as tourist attraction, based on criteria of
sustainable development.

Like all multimedia tourist promotional material, we
will value artistic creativity in a visual representation of the areas and
territories, the originality of the chosen themes, and the innovation in the
display and production.

3. Requirements:

-      
Accepted
genres: fiction, animation, documentary
films produced in Europe excluding
all works with promotional or institutional contents.

-      
Film
completed after: January 1, 2009.

-      
Maximum
running time : 55 minutes
(including credits)

-      
Films
produced in the following formats: 16 and 35 mm films, video. Films will be
screened in DVD (PAL)

-      
For
not Spanish films, films must be subtitled in Spanish, English or French.

4. Participants can enter
a maximum of 3 films.

5. The Festival’s organizers assume that participants
have all the rights on their own works, and are responsible in case of non-fulfillment
of these regulations.

6. Participants
will submit their films on-line at: www.cinextur.com.

7. The deadline is March 23rd, 2012.

8. No entry fees are required.

9. To complete their submissions, participants will
have to fill in the online entry form available on www.cinextur.com and send a link to download ( MOV file- max
2Gb) to info@cinextur.com or a DVD screener to the following address:

10. All participants who do not submit the
whole requested materials explained herein will be outside contest.

11. The awards will be
attributed by a Jury, composed by eminent personalities of the artistic, natural,
touristic and cinematographic world.

12.  The awards will be attributed in the following
categories:

- Best Documentary: 5000 Euros + Statuette. To the best documentary which promotes natural elements, touristic resources and places for spare time activities and nature enjoyment.

- Best Fiction/Animation: 5000 Euros + Statuette. To the best fiction or
animation which shows out natural landscapes and places where the film has been
shot.

- “Tæjo Internacional” Award to the Best Film shot in
Extremadura: 5000 Euros + Statuette.

To the best documentary, fiction or animation, shot in
Extremadura, which promotes natural
elements, touristic resources and places for spare time activities and nature
enjoyment.

(For this category, the whole shooting place must be
Extremadura, Participants must send an email to info@cinextur.com indicating the film title and the exact
shooting place)

13. The awards are subject to the tax retentions
marked by the Spanish law.

14.  Films
will be selected by a Commission for each category and only 10 will apply for
the awards.

15. The official selection will be announced through the Festival web page (http://www.cinextur.com) one month before the Festival.

16. Selected participants must submit their films in a MOV
file, only in PAL standard.

-  With English
subtitled for the Spanish Films.

-  With Spanish
subtitled for the non-Spanish Films.

-      
Director’s
CV and Filmography in Spanish
and English.

-      
Three
(3) stills of the Film and One(1) Photography of the Director

-      
Synopsis
of the film in Spanish and English. (max. 5 lines)

-      
Spanish
and English dialogues lists (in Word with time-codes)

17. The deadline to send the selected works is March 25th,
2012.

18. The
costs of expedition will be charged to the sender. The Festival Committee will
not be responsible for any loss or damage of the package.

19. The
Festival Committee will be entitled not to accept works which do not respond to
the appropriate technical conditions for the screenings.

20. Participants will allow the Festival’s organizers
to screen short clips of their films for a maximum duration of two minutes to
promote the event.

21. The Festival’s organizers reserve the right to
publish in DVD the selected films, with promotional aims (maximum two minutes).

22. All the requested documents will become part of
the Festival’s archive.

23. The participation to the Festival entails
full acceptance of these regulations. In case of breach of anyone of these points, the
Festival’s organizers reserve the right to remove the work of the competition.

24. The Festival organizers reserve the right to modify
any points in the regulations herein if necessary.
