CINERAMA.BC - 2nd International Film Festival in Balneário Camboriú - CALL FOR ENTRIES

We are starting to prepare the 2nd edition of CINERAMA.BC, which will take place between the 4th and
the 8th of April, 2012. The event happens again at Cine Itália, a
downtown movie theatre with 700 seats.

Included in the programme are the
following:

-International Film Festival
– Brazilian and foreign films and documentaries, not screened previously in
Brazil.

-International New Media
Festival – New forms of audiovisual production and their new formats.

-Catarina Festival – Short
films produced in the state of Santa Catarina or with themes related to Santa
Catarina state.

-Museum of Cinema – Part of
one of the largest collections of movie projectors n Brazil.

-CINERAMA.BC Residence –
Lectures, Speeches and Workshops.

The 1st edition took place from 11 to
15 November 2011. During the course of CINERAMA.BC, Balneário Camboriú was a
screening and discussion fore for audiovisual works, audience formation and a
showcase for new professionals.

The curators seek to show different
forms of sensitivity in fiction and documentary films by well-known and new
directors. The Festival offered films not previously seen in Brazil, such as
“My Little Princess” by Eva Ionesco; “Tomboy” by Céline Sciamma; “Jud Suss:
Rise and Fall” by Oskar Roehler; “El Premio” by Paula Markovich; “Le Syndrome
Du Titanic”, by Nicolas Hulot and “9 Months 9 Days” by Ozcar Ramírez González, and
also feature films by the honoured guests Beto Brant and Renato Ciasca “I’d
receive the worst news from your beautiful lips” and “The Trespasser”.

Director Beto Brant, producer Renato
Ciasca, actress Paula Braun and director Patricia Moran, honoured guests of the
1st edition, were present at the Festival and were able to have
direct contact with the audience.

The lectures happened daily and were
organized by:
André Costa – Documentary Film; André Sturm – Cinema and Market; Paula
Braun – Actor’s Work; and
Patricia Moran –
Audiovisual Essay.

For five days during the Festival there
was the Collective Production Workshop, coordinated by Carlos Daniel Reichel
and Guilherme Meneghelli.
At the end of the Festival, the short
film made by the students was screed in a screening session at the Festival.
