THE MIX Short Film Awards - Call for Entries

The MIX champions short film writers and filmmakers by rewarding current projects and acting as a catalyst for bringing writers & filmmakers together to produce a new wave of forward-thinking projects. 

The MIX brings a range of exciting production opportunities and industry recognition to short film writers & filmmakers including:

• Production Opportunity for Grand Prize Winners
• Production Opportunity for Corporate Production Award Winners (FREE category)
• All Submitters Receive Judge's Scorecard/Feedback
• All Submitters Go Away with a Prize (valued at $95)

The MIX accepts short film scripts and produced shorts of all genres and niches and offers top winners production opportunities and the chance to win cash and prizes worth over $10,000.

The Premier Screening will be held at the historic Byrd Theatre in Richmond, VA February 17-19, 2012.

PRODUCTION AWARDS

A production opportunity will be given to the top screenwriter and filmmaker who will be awarded $750 each to work together to co-write or co-direct a MIX short film or documentary production.  

What's more, The MIX has teamed up with a corporate partner to offer entrants the opportunity to submit their script or storyboard for the corporation's short film project, a FREE contest category if submitters have entered at least one other main category by the respective deadline (see the website for dates).  This is a time-sensitive contest category where writers and directors will have two weeks to respond to the corporation's call to action, and produce the winning script or director's storyboard. The top two winners will receive a cash prize, and if selected as the produced project, will get co-credit in the final production.

In partnership with Creative World Awards, the Top 20 finalists will also receive heavy industry promotion to several high profile companies.

OUTSTANDING MERIT AWARDS

With an added emphasis on creating social impact, The MIX offers three additional outstanding merit awards to the most inspiring writer or filmmaker who best utilizes film as a medium to create awareness, instigate change, or bring a unique perspective to any one topic. 

Lastly, ALL submitters will receive the judge's first round scorecard and brief notes included in the price of entry, and get a promotion package through the MIX Directory as a Preferred Listing for six months (worth over $95).
