Submit to The Bahamas International Film Festival

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: August 1st 2011

 

The Bahamas International Film Festival is now accepting submissions for features, shorts and documentaries. Send your completed submission form along with a preview on DVD.

The Bahamas International Film Festival is an excellent opportunity to present your work to the press and network with other filmmakers, buyers and industry representatives. The Bahamian community will give you a very warm welcome by providing all accepted filmmakers to a filmmaker’s retreat the day before the festival. The Bahamas International Film Festival is building a reputation for hospitality and integrity of programming.
We look forward to having you here this winter.

ELIGIBILITY
• Films must have been completed after January 2009 to be eligible
• Films must never have been screened in Nassau prior to the Festival
• Films must be available for Festival screening on 35MM, Beta SP (NTSC) or DigiBeta ONLY.
• Non- English-language films must be subtitled in English


SUBMISSION
• Only NTSC DVD’s will be accepted for preview. DO NOT send master tapes or film prints for preview screenings.
• Viewing tapes must be labeled with the title, running time and full contact details (including name,address, phone number and e-mail)
• Delivery cost for the viewing tape will be borne by the applicants.
• All preview tapes will be added to the BIFF archives and made available to buyers and distributors upon request.


TIMEFRAME
• Participants will be notified via email results approximately six weeks before the Festival. Shipping instructions for films selected for the Festival will be included.
• Exhibition prints/tapes must arrive at the Festival by November 18, 2011
• Please include the following documents with each submission: Preview tape, completed and signed submission form, Money Order, synopsis and or press kit.


PRINTS
• The festival accepts limited responsibility for technical damage to prints or tapes and for loss or theft for the period of time that the prints are in the Festival’s possession, up to a maximum of
$1000.
• Delivery cost of the exhibition print will be borne by the applicant. The BIFF will cover return or forwarding cost of the exhibition print but not any additional charges, which may be incurred at the
consignee’s end.
• Programmed works may be excerpted (up to 2 minutes) for television and other promotional purposes.
