“You and I shall pass on but our stories
shall linger.”

From
yesterday, today and tomorrow, stories come from all time and all ages, keeping
us unwearied, unbridled, unburdened in its magical realm. A realm of make believe
where no matter how desperate things seem there is always something to learn. Learning
that changes the way we see our world, the way we act or think, the way we are
supposed to live and evolve to what is truthfully our true essence.

All
stories have something to teach if only we discern carefully. And it is up to
the story teller to keep it interesting, entertaining rather. Strange
characters come to life, fairy tales and wondrous fiction will always be
enchanting, jogging our minds to think ahead, always rendering us in awe, dredging
out positive emotions. In a way good stories have shaped our lives, giving us
morals, highlighting virtues, even painting our future through Science fiction;
always leaving us with a sense of goodness in our hearts.

Science
Fiction has become reality and still new ideas bring out new hopes for a better
future or rather a convenient future. Medicine, Communications, Defence, even a
Space Exploration has been developed because of great stories. Masterpieces
once imagined by pioneer story tellers that have paved the way for a great many
inventions.

Humanity
on a whole is evolving, gradually though, and I believe stories are partly
responsible for this change. Real life stories or made up, each has its own
unique characteristic that affects each of us in ways only as different as our
perceptions. And however different we may think we are from each other our
ultimate essence is the same and through an inner need we share our perceptions
subconsciously, in the end moving together in a forward direction.

I’m
a story teller and I enjoy making up new stories every now and then. It is a
hard job to imagine characters to life, but in the end it is gratifying to see those
characters alive and living up to your expectations, intertwining with the
plot, giving it form and ultimately the effect a good story needs. I have seen
characters evolving themselves as the story goes by; it is magical, and there have
been times when a character has taken the story to a new level, eventually changing
the outcome of it. And I am stoked whenever this happens.

Some
people don’t think stories affect real life. But it is not true. Even comic books
have an effect-and not only on children-when it comes to teaching morality (probably,
even better than the church). The fight between good and evil-where all virtues
of good are in one Superhero who fights evil, laying his life on the line altruistically–are
similar to mythical stories of any or all religions. I’m still inspired when I
read a comic book where our hero is fighting for justice. Such stories teaches
us to be good in real life, to stand up against all evil, imbibe virtues and perhaps,
evolve to another level of consciousness, one that we are supposed to be at... And
yet keep telling stories with great enthusiasm and fervour.
