Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival

GZ DOC 2009 is held from November 29-December 13th in Guangzhou this year.

Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival, China (GZ DOC) started as Guangzhou International Documentary Conference in 2003. After six years' development, GZ DOC is now the only national documentary industrial event hosted by State Administration of Radio, Film and TV and Guangdong Provincial Government.

GZ DOC endeavors to "bring China to the world and have the world know China" and has been developing itself towards an international, professional and market-oriented festival.

GZ DOC organizes annual Chinese documentary filmmaker delegation to international documentary events such as Krakow Film Festival, Hot Docs, Leipzig Festival for Animation and Documentary Films and Sunnnyside of the Doc. Such visits have helped Chinese documentary filmmakers to get a deeper understanding of international documentary market as well as acquiring international standards in documentary making. It has also helped to bring international Commissioning Editors closer to Chinese filmmakers as well as promoting the communication between them.

In the next three years, GZ DOC shall strengthen its ability in helping the communication and interaction between Chinese and international documentary industry and hope to build GZ DOC an influential international event. GZ DOC wishes to help attract international attention to Chinese documentary market and become a member of Chinese documentary industry as well as international documentary market.
