Asian Festival Circuit's blogwww.filmfestivals.com correspondent for South East Asia and China. Based in Shanghai. European Union Film Festival in China
The second Annual Film Festival of the European Union (EU) will be held in China from November 5 to December 4, 2009 respectively in Beijing and Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province (southwest). The festival, supported by the Swedish Presidency, invites the 27 countries member of the EU to present a recent, popular and successful film.
Each film will be screened twice in Beijing and once in Chengdu. In Beijing, the screenings will take place at the French Cultural Center, the Cervantes Institute and the Italian Cultural Institute. In Chengdu, the films will be screened at the Stellar Yingdu cinema. "The films were chosen for their diversity and specificity regional. We wanted the Chinese audience to discover a glimpse of the European Film Industry" commented Ambassador of Sweden Mikael Lindstrom. |
