48th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival's blogOne of the most prestigious cinema events of Turkey’s arts and culture scene, the ‘48th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, will be held from 8th to 14th October 2011. With the support of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, the Festival is organized by the Antalya Culture and Art Foundation (AKSAV). Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, held annually since 1963 is the most important International film festival in Turkey. Taking place amongst the palm lined boulevards, and sun drenched avenues of beautiful city of Antalya, the Festival will offer numerous exhibitions, retrospectives and opportunities to discover new trends in World Cinema and it is determined to be the best yet in 2011. Short Film Competition ‘People’s Orange’ Opening to the WorldOrganized in co-operation with Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and the Antalya Culture and Arts Foundation ‘People's Orange Short Film Competition’ now opening to the world. The Competition is held for the third time this year and it is preparing to call for entries from all over the world to exceed Antalya borders. The competition is open to everyone who is interested in the film making. It gives a great opportunity for those to showcase their talent and explore the possibilities in the cinema industry by giving a chance to meet the masters from the film world. The films to compete could be shot with any kind of camera and they must be between 30seconds to 5 minutes long. The filmmakers will be able to submit their films via mail, email and text messages. The successful entries will be shown on a TV Show for 28 weeks (TBC). The winner of the month will be awarded with about $5,500. In October 2012, the selected finalists will compete during the festival. The winners will be announced at the gala night and the ‘Golden Camera’ award winner will be awarded with around $80,000 and the ‘Silver Camera’ winner will be awarded with about $27,000. The ‘Bronze Camera’ award winner will be awarded with around $13,500. In addition the winning team of the competition will have a change to go to the Rotterdam Film Festival in November 2012. The ‘3rd People’s Orange’ is taking a significant step towards becoming a World’s Festival.
