Whiteboys

Whiteboys

Synopsis

From a modest Midwestern family, Flip (Danny Hoch) "wants to keep it real." He's the leader of a hip hop group in an abandoned region of Iowa with its deserted farms and disused factories. In his mind, that means moving into the Chicago ghetto to live and write million-dollar rap hits like his heroes.

Flip hangs out with Iowa Gangsta Blood Thugs, including Trevor (Mark Webber), a middle-class rebel, and James (Dash Mihok) who is more concerned with his vehicle than his family. They smoke joints, rap to their favorite music, imitate them in their choice of clothes. Their only regret: They are not black.

Then they meet Khalid (Eugene Byrd), an upper class black kid recently transplanted from Chicago. When Flip gets him out of a run-in with the law, Khalid owes him. He agrees to take Flip and the gang to Chicago - where Flip's fantasy gangsta world meets reality in a way he never imagined.
