Nick : many thanks indeed, to Jean-Paul and the best of luck for his new film!!!

Question : As you are in London, what are your thoughts on British cinema?
Answer : How can I say. unfortunately, the british cinema is an example of a cinema that had to suffer from this competition between north american and european cinema. but happily there still are some creators to make films even if sometimes they are forced to go to work in the States.

Question : Nick : What is the state of french cinema today?
Answer : First of all it's alive. which is already a lot for film in Europe. Everybody knows in Europe all the mortal dangers threatening us

Question : How did tonight's showing go or hasn't it yet?
Answer : Horseman is a much more complex story and much less known even in France as a novel.

Question : Cyrano was a massive international hit, do you think Horseman will have the same crosseover appeal?
Answer : I don't know yet because the international career of the film has not started yet.

Question : What attracted you to the project?
Answer : Probably when I was 20 I said it was tre most beautiful french novel I ever read

Jean-Paul Rappeneau's latest film "The Horseman on the Roof" has already been a smash hit in his native France.
His previous film "Cyrano de Bergerac" won many awards Internationaly.
Answer : Suzan : Cyrano was brilliant - i can't wait to see the Horseman ...
