Knightsbridge
Definately the place for shopaholics and those with expensive tastes. The famous department store Harrods is located here and well worth a cruise around for those essential gifts that you need to take home with you.

Music
If you are looking to extend your music collection head for Oxford Street where you will find HMV and Virgin Megastore, which have a vast range of CDs, records, tapes, as well as video games and videos. For a more usually taste in music, Soho has a number of speciality record shops. Definately worth a look as records are rapidly becoming a dying breed!

Theatre
London's shows cater for all tastes and ages. Long-time favourites such as The Mouse Trap (now in its 42nd year), Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Miss Saigon, Les Miserables and Starlight Express. More recent additions are Oliver and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard, renowned for its fantastic sets and brilliant music.
For the more serious theatre-goers, there is the RSC at the Barbican and the Royal National Theatre on the South Bank. For many fringe shows throughout London comprehensive listings are provided by the weekly magazine Time Out.
For half-price tickets SWET ticket booth in Leicester Square (no telephone calls and you will have to queue) is open from 14.30-18.30 Monday-Saturday and from noon on matinee days.

Time Out magazine
Offers invaluable listings of what is screening in the capital. Releases dominate the West End, particularly the Leicester Square area, but there is also a thriving repertory programme at the National Film Theatre in the South Bank complex by the river, which also houses the Museum of the Moving Image (Tel 928 3232).
