Cannes is situated at about 35 kilometres from Nice Airport and takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes in a taxi on the motorway. Many taxis are available at the airport and the fare is around Ffr400. Day rate is B on the meter, night rate is C.

A daily bus service (Rapides Cote d'Azur Tel 93 55 24 00) to the Cannes bus station, via the motorway, runs from the airport terminals on every hour between 09.00 and 20.00 and from Cannes to the airport terminals on every hour from 08.00 to 19.00. The price is Ffr75, including baggage, journey time is 30 minutes. This bus picks up people at the Hotel de Ville crossing and also in Le Cannet.

A coastal bus service serves the airport to Cannes bus station and vice versa in one hour 15 minutes, leaving the airport about every 40 minutes between 7.50 and 21.15 or from Cannes to go to the airport between 06.00 and 19.40, stopping at St. Laurent du Var, Cros de Cagnes (railway station), Cagnes sur Mer (railway station) Deux Rives, Biot, Antibes and Golf Juan.

  PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Regular modern trains with overnight sleepers run from the mainline station in Cannes to most major cities in France. Good coastal trains operate along the coast to Nice and Monte Carlo with connections to Italy and in the opposite direction to the Spanish frontier. Rapid trains (TGV) leave Cannes every day for Paris. Train fares are reasonable (Cannes-Nice costs around Ffr25 and a return trip Cannes-Paris by TGV around Ffr882 at the time of going to print).
