David Hewlett, star of the Perspective Canada 2001 selection Treed Murray, is joined by the film's writer/director William Phillips in a room at the downtown Toronto Hotel Intercontinental. Both men look surprisingly fit and rested, and maintain a witty back-and-forth banter throughout the interview. more

Film Focus
Lantana, the title refers to Australia's spiky flowering weed that overruns part of the country, focuses on Bushland cop Leon (Anthony LaPaglia) who leads a seemingly perfect life with his beautiful wife, Sonja (Kerry Armstrong) and their two teenage sons. The power of insinuation is at the root of Lantana's appeal. This tale about two couples unable to communicate their feelings of loneliness and distrust, uses a supposed murder as a mystery device. more
