The no-frills Oscar Ceremony went on as planned, with a hearty attendance of Hollywood glamour-clad stars. Although Chicago picked up six prizes (out of its 13 nominations), notably for Best Supporting Actress (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Best Costume (Colleen Atwood), Best Editing (Martin Walsh) and Best Picture (Producer Martin Richards), it was somewhat overshadowed by the Best Actor (Adrien Brody), Best Directing (Roman Polanski) and Best Writing (Ronald Harwood) awards that The Pianist took home. more
