Madonna is set to grace the silver screen once again, co-starring with Rupert Everett in Lakeshore Entertainment's upcoming The Next Best Thing. This late addition to the Lakeshore slate was written by Tom Ropelewski (Look Who's Talking) and tells the story of Annie (Madonna) who, now in her mid-thirties, is convinced that her biological clock is about to tick past fertility. Romantically unattached, Anna turns to best friend Robert (Everett) for a bit of insemination. Five years later, Annie falls in love and a dilemma of fatherhood and family ensues. 

Unbeknownst to most, this will not be the first time that the hot pair have teamed up. Earlier this year, Madonna convinced the actor to interview her in a televised life-story documentary. 

Paramount Pictures will distribute the film in North America as part of its five-year, 15 picture deal with Lakeshore. JS
