Les structures traditionnelles de la vie sociale et familiale d'une petite ville de l'Inde en pleine expansion sont fortement altérées par l'urbanisation progressive du pays. Trois générations de femmes voient leur perception de la nature humaine évoluer, tout comme leurs relations personnelles. Dans leur solitude, elles doivent faire face à des problèmes de tradition, de culture, de religion et gérer les rapports hommes-femmes.
Gradual urbanisation and its consequences affect the traditional, social and family structures in a small growing town in India. The story explores the multidimensional conflicts of three women of different generations, their changing perceptions about human nature and personal relationships. Their lonely moments are highlighted in the context of the inexorable flow of time amidst issues of tradition, culture, religion and man-woman relationships.
