A state-run boarding school in Oudim, Israel, in the early 50's. Most of the adolescents are orphans who have survived the Holocaust or simply have no one else to care for them. During the day, the teens seem like other normal children: studies, games, laughs and songs fill the day. But when the night falls, painful memories and horrors of the Holocaust surface. When life becomes unbearable, they find refuge under the beautiful Domim tree - the only place where they feel strangely at peace and can find a trace of solitude....
