Entre 1784 et 1789 Thomas Jefferson est ambassadeur des États-Unis à Paris. Ce sont des années clefs pour lui. Pour la France aussi : la révolution est sur le point d'éclater. Jefferson a 41 ans. Il arrive de Virginie accompagné de sa fille Patsy. Sa femme est morte deux ans plus tôt et huit ans auparavant, il a rédigé et signé la Déclaration d'Indépendance.
Between 1784 and 1789 Thomas Jefferson spent those years as the American ambassador to France. These were significant years for him in his public and personal life, and fateful ones for France, where the Revolution was about to break out. Jefferson is 41 years old when he arrived from Virginia, accompanied by his elder daughter Patsy. His wife had died two years before, and eight years before that, he had drafted and signed the Declaration of Independence.
