Harry feels alienated from the rest of society and cannot commit himself to any physical or emotional relationship because of the large birthmark in the shape of Madagascar he has on one side of his face. After a disastrous visit to a gay night-club which serves only to underline his sense of isolation and an escape to the seaside, he rescues an inconscious man, Flint. They set up an uneasy menage in a deserted cottage. Though initially wary of Flint's easy-going, good-humoured, roguish charm, Harry is fascinated by Flint's claim that he is a scaffolder and he begins to spin pleasurable fantasies around his new friend. Their growing mutual attraction is eventually physically consummated but reality soon disrupts this idyll.

Harry se sent mis au ban de la société et n'arrive à s'impliquer dans aucune relation affective ou physique à cause d'une marque de naissance -ayant pour forme la carte de Madagascar- qui couvre une partie de son visage. Après un passage désastreux dans un night-club gay, qui ne fait qu'approfondir son sentiment d'isolement, et une fuite au bord de la mer, il portera secours à un homme inconscient, Flint. Commence alors une cohabitation inconfortable dans une maison déserte. Tout d'abord méfiant par rapport à l'aisance, la bonne humeur et le charme espiègle de Flint, Harry finalement fasciné se sent progressivement attiré par Flint.
L'AUTEUR
Chris Newby a étudié au Royal College of Art de Londres. Il a réalisé une série de courts métrages "Hoy", "The Old Man of the Sea", "Kiss" et "relax". Il réalise en 1992 son premier long métrage "Anchoress".
"Madagascar Skin" est son deuxième long métrage
