Flicks International Student Short Film Festival

On 13, 14 and 15 March 2013, the fourth annual Flicks International Student Short Film Festival will take place in the lovely city of Groningen, the Netherlands. This festival, organized by students, promises to be a highlight for film buffs and film makers everywhere.

The festival will showcase short films of film academy students, film school students and other young film makers from around the world. Various themes and genres will be presented, so be surprised!

Flicks wants to provide film students and aspiring film makers the opportunity to show their work for a diverse audience: an audience that wants to be indulged by a great variety of short films. Prepare to be amazed by the early works of the great film makers of tomorrow.

2013 Winter Film Awards celebration launches February 28 2013 Our mission is to recognize excellence and diversity in cinema and to promote learning and artistic expression for all people at all stages of their artistic careers. We celebrate the crazy cultural mixture that is New York City, showcasing emerging filmmakers from every age, ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, political and geographic perspective. Our series of events honors filmmakers on all levels - from the masters of cinema and the arts to the creative novice just starting out in the industry. The Winter Film Awards will be February 28 - March 3 2013 and our March 2 Awards Ceremony will be televised nationally on American Primetime Television via Omniverse TV and our national affiliates, and is to reach an international audience in 119 cities through multiple platforms, including iPad, mobile phones and other devices. The Winter Film Awards is partnered with local NYC film schools, cultural societies and non-profit organizations. The Awards Celebration includes several other exciting components including Indie Film Awards, a Film Festival and a Talent Competition celebrating the Creative Arts.

The NY Shorts Fest provides a showcase for the best short-form cinema and its creators in the world. Created by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences accredited Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, LA Shorts Fest.

We feel that short form cinema and its creators should have their own premiere film festival in New York deserving similar recognition given to the feature film and its creators.

The 2nd NY Shorts Fest will be held in May 2013.

The 2nd East Doc Platform (EDP) edition is the largest Central and East European documentary event held March in Prague, 2013, organized by the Institute of Documentary Film. It is the meeting point for 120 East European filmmakers and producers who seek creative, financial and distribution support, and more than 70 key international festival programmers, commissioning editors, buyers, distributors, sales agents, film fund and organization representatives who will be able to choose from some of the most promising films and projects in Central and Eastern Europe.The event is organized by the Institute of Documentary Film In association with the One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival

East Doc Platform draws from the unique representation of key international documentary professionals who are, in non-exclusive setting, available for informal meetings  to every participant as well as accredited observers. East Doc Platform helps quality creative documentaries to fine-tune their story and visual style, and find suitable partners for co-production and distribution. East Doc Platform is designed for documentary professionals with projects in the development, production, and post-production stage, and for professionals with completed films.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR DOCUMENTARIES WHICH ARE CONSIDERED BY THEIR CREATORS AS ART WORKS USING VIDEO AS A MEDIUM IN ALL ITS VARIETY. THE WORKS CAN BE OF A PERSONAL, SOCIAL OR IMPRESSIONISTIC NATURE.

-      SHORT PIECES FROM 1 – 20 MINS.

-      FEATURE PIECES FROM 45 – 90 MINS.

-      ENTRIES BY WEB LINK PREFERRED (not mandatory).

-      ENTRY FEE: $20 FOR 1^st entry, $15 for 2^nd ENTRY.

-      NO MORE THAN TWO ENTIRES PER ARTIST.
