FILMPLUS - Forum for film editing and the art of montage

Filmplus is a Cologne based festival honoring the art of film editing and montage. Outstanding editing performances are decorated In the categoeries fiction, documentary and short film (advancement). Furthermore there is an Hommage to a distinguished editor.
The awards are accompanied by a rich film programme, panels and lectures.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We're pleased to introduce to you the first edition of Rated SRTM - Socially Relevant Film Festival New York, to be launched March 13-19, 2014. Rated SRTM is devoted specifically to filmmakers and fans of entertaining and commercially viable movies that achieve box office success without resorting to gratuitous violence, vices and sensationalism. The festival will take place in New York City, the entertainment capital of the world, as well as upstate New York, at the Carey Center for Global Good in Rensselaerville.
Founding Artistic Director Nora Armani and Filmmakers' Lab Founder/ Director Mike Camoin will be at the Cannes Film Festival 2013 to meet with you and fill you in on how you can participate as filmmaker, panelist, distributor, sales agent, partner and colleague. Submissions will be open soon on Without a Box and festival platforms such as www.filmfestivals.com, www.reelport.com, www.festhome.com and others.

Rated SRTM strives to deliver Socially Relevant films that shine a spotlight on human stories with a relevant message or cause. Perhaps the first Filmmakers' Lab of its kind in the U.S., Rated SRTM is devoted solely to the filmmakers who deal with this type of content. During the lab sessions new ways will be explored to help stories that matter reach a wider audience. The Lab will take place during the Upstate portion of the festival, March 14-16th, 2014.
Filmmakers from around the globe with socially relevant stories at various stages of development are encouraged to apply.

The Indie Spirit Film Festival is an annual event for filmmakers (professionals and students) and film lovers alike, with a superb program of feature films, shorts, docs, and animation from around the world. Indie Spirit also has sub-themes in which Native American and Colorado films are showcased.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The INDIE SPIRIT FILM FESTIVAL (ISFF) showcases the work of independent filmmakers amidst the mountainous backdrop of Colorado Springs, Colorado, just one hour south of Denver.
ISFF is about filmmakers, audiences, distributors and film professionals establishing a relationship and supporting independent film.
ISFF has showcased an average of over 100 films from all over the globe, covering a variety of subjects and genres in its first five years. The festival has quickly become Colorado Springs' largest film festival, with numerous filmmakers and film fans attending screenings, Q & A sessions, filmmaker panels, parties and receptions.
Boasting a broad, unrestricted selection of films, ISFF presents genre-specific awards, as well as Best Short, Feature, Documentary and Festival Director's Choice. Several films from previous years have achieved further success on the festival circuit and many films from all four years are in distribution.
Now in its 6th year, the 2013 Indie Spirit Film Festival will take place October 3-6, 2013 in Colorado Springs.

San Germano International Film Festival-Third Edition
Regulations, terms and conditions
1 – Aims
The short film as an art form and springboard for young talent is an established tradition at the San Germano Film Festival and enjoys high priority. This section shows all genres and types of short films; it is a showcase for the kind of new directions in filmmaking that often make their first appearance in short films. In order to give this special format the attention it deserves, no formal restrictions are imposed.
2 – Eligibility and brief
Eligible for the San Germano Film Festival competition are fiction, documentary, experimental and animation films up to a maximum length of 20 minutes (including credits). The only mandatory requirements are that:
• Produce a film that is entirely original in content
• Abide by all the rules set in the terms and conditions regarding areas such as rights, clearances and defamatory or illegal content.
3 – Selection and programming
Invitations for the films to participate in the San Germano Film Festival competition are extended by the Festival Directors in agreement with the section’s curator. Formats accepted for selection film prints are DVD; for other formats please contact the section directly at sangermanofilmfestival@gmail.com
4 – Versions and subtitling
All films, including Italian-language films, are shown in their original version preferably with English subtitles. The producer is required to meet the costs of subtitling. The original version is the version shown (or which will be shown) in the country of origin.
5 – Judging and awards
The San Germano Film Festival will convene a panel of respected judges to select a shortlist of nominated films to be considerate for the final prizes. Judges will assess each entry against the following criteria:
• An excellent creative idea
• Excellent craft and technical execution
• On brief
The jury is obliged to award the following prizes to short films in competition at the San Germano Film Festival:
• price for the Best Short Film
• price for the Best Short Actor
• price for the Best Short Documentary
• price for the Best Foreign Short Film
