MISSION
& OBJECTIVE
The Action on Film Festival aims to promote artistically and culturally
significant film arts through education and exhibition. We do this
to enrich the life of the community, filmmakers and of course individuals
who pursue careers in front of the camera. By working directly with
filmmakers independent of budget, origin, nationality, style or
genre we will celebrate the art of film and filmmakers in addition
to:
-Setting high standards for quality film education and exhibition,
placing artistic and cultural merit above commercial appeal.
-Working collaboratively with filmmakers and producers to increase
access to quality film arts, presentations, programs, and projects.
-Enjoy the art of Action on Film in all of its glory from the delicate
movement of the wings of a butterfly to a blazing shoot out on the
streets of an inner city.
ABOUT
THE FESTIVAL
The Action On Film Festival is dedicated to movment on Film and
Video. Not just what you do in front of but what you do with the
camera itself.
While we all love a great action film, action is more than martial
arts, fast cars and what you typically believe to be action. Action
is also, lovers walking on a beach, a kiss, hard edge dialogue and
even more than that.
So, any film or video that has movement, life, excitement, and fire,
that is what we are looking for and yes of course, we want your
shoot ‘em ups and films with fight scenes too. In short, we
want to celebrate it all. Give us action!
The festival takes place at the beautiful Long Beach Convention
Center, in Long Beach California from July 28-30. The 3 Day event
will feature presentation of over 200 films, videos and animations
on 9 screens. The event is set against the backdrop of the Long
Beach Internationals, the longest running Martial Arts Show of it's
kind in the U.S. as well as the Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame,
Award Show, Seminars and World Trade Market.
Award winners will receive their plaques, trophies and awards on
day two. Day three will feature a special by ‘invitation only’
filmmakers symposium and special guest presentation. There will
be parties, mixers, and group meetings for all filmmakers. We support
all of our filmmakers and treat them all with the dignity and respect
they deserve.
10% of all Attendance Profits will be split evenly between 1st Place
Winners of Each Division. We believe in filmmakers and as filmmakers
and as producers we know how important recognition and reward can
be. In addition, all films will be listed on our official website
indefinitely for quicker submission verification for IMDB.
