Jason Paré
Vidéographe
Vidéaste-comédien-écrivain abitibien, montréalais d'adoption depuis 2004, Jason Paré réalise des courts métrages et à quelques publications à son actif, dont un roman de science-fiction intitulé Combat par l’esprit (1995). À Rouyn-Noranda, il a été cofondateur des Racamés, un collectif de vidéastes à l’origine de l'Espace-Vidéo et du Festival du DocuMenteur de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Depuis 2009, Jason Paré travaille pour Vidéographe où il est responsable au contenu et aux communications pour la plateforme Vithèque. Il est actuellement critique pour le Sinistre Magazine et responsable de la programmation du Festival des Films de la Relève.



 

Pierre-Alexandre Labelle
under the milky way
Originaire de Québec, Canada, Pierre-Alexandre Labelle émigre en France en 2001 pour travailler en tant qu’opérateur de produits dérivés pour Cargill (2001-2004). Il s’intéresse ensuite à la distribution de films et joue un rôle majeur dans la création et le développement d’UniversCiné, en passant d’un poste de gestionnaire de projet à celui de Directeur Marketing et Développement International (2005-2008). En parallèle, il lance en 2007 le projet Glitner (plateforme collaborative pour les échanges professionnels autour de la VoD), et est nommé directeur adjoint du Club des Producteurs Européens en 2009. Il participe à la création d’Under The Milky Way en 2010 et travaille désormais depuis New York d’où il pilote le développement de la société à l’international.



 

Christian Morissette
Vidéographe
Christian Morissette est coordonnateur des festivals et des ventes depuis deux ans et demi chez Vidéographe, il s’attache principalement à la rationalisation des tâches et au développement des outils de distribution en ligne. Parallèlement, il poursuit une Maîtrise en philosophie (UdM) en plus d’être artiste en résidence à la Société des Arts technologiques où il travaille sur un projet de cinéma expérimental (270 degrés) destiné à la Satosphère de la SAT. Ce parcours et ces occupations décrivent les deux passions qui le portent: une compréhension des enjeux et des fondements de notre civilisation tout comme les représentations artistiques et cinématographiques de celle-ci.

Under The Milky Way is an international company dedicated to digital film distribution and marketing.

Under The Milky Way works with a large number of VoD Platforms and was awarded the global iTunes preferred aggregator status in 2011. The company is fully operational on more than 100 territories and serves all kinds of rights-holders (producers, distributors, sales agents) out of 10 regional offices in Europe, North America and Asia.

Under The Milky Way’s main activities consist of International rights aggregation and distribution on global VoD platforms, the development of software solutions for online and social media marketing, and also, the coordination of a European professional network addressing topics related to cross-border digital distribution.


VIDÉOGRAPHE
40 ans de création et de diffusion de vidéos indépendantes

Vidéographe est un centre d’artistes autogéré voué à la création, à la diffusion et à la distribution d’œuvres d’arts médiatiques indépendantes. Initiateur de changement depuis plus de 40 ans, Vidéographe rassemble la communauté hétérogène des arts médiatiques de la scène montréalaise, nationale et internationale. Son action auprès d’un public toujours plus large offre aux artistes et aux œuvres un rayonnement inestimable. Né de la volonté d'un groupe de cinéastes et de producteurs de l'Office national du film (ONF) de démocratiser la production et la diffusion de documents audiovisuels, en 1973, Vidéographe est devenu un organisme à but non lucratif, et a mis sur pied un réseau de diffusion servant de modèle pour la vidéo indépendante.

Vidéographe encourage la production et la diffusion d'œuvres novatrices en arts médiatiques : vidéos d’art, documentaires, courts métrages, installations interactives et nouveaux médias. Vidéographe soutient autant les jeunes auteurs, dans le cadre de la réalisation de leurs premières œuvres, que les artistes professionnels, dans la pratique et la reconnaissance de leur art. Vidéographe se donne un rôle d’éclaireur et reste alerte face à l’évolution constante des technologies de diffusion. Et avec Vithèque, sa plateforme de diffusion en ligne, Vidéographe a su entrer dans une ère de nouvelles relations entre technologie et création artistique. Ce mandat d’accompagnement des artistes de la relève, de soutien et de diffusion de la création artistique reste l’objectif premier de Vidéographe et celui des 40 prochaines années!

VITHÈQUE : SPÉCIFICITÉS DE LA PLATEFORME DE VIDÉOS INDÉPENDANTES EN LIGNE DE VIDÉOGRAPHE.

Lancée par Vidéographe en 2010, la plateforme Vithèque offre un vaste choix de vidéos indépendantes – près de 1 300 œuvres – donnant une vitrine unique à des genres aussi diversifiés que la fiction, le documentaire, l’art vidéo, la vidéo-danse, l’expérimental et l’animation. En plus de donner un accès public à ce riche corpus vidéographique, Vithèque est un outil incontournable de la distribution électronique pour les festivals, les marchés télévisuels et institutionnels.

Independent Film-making with Cinema EOS Cameras

Documentary film-makers and technophiles Sarah Moffatt and Dany Lavoie show how to get the most out of Canon’s Cinema EOS cameras. Special attention will be paid to the cameras’ ease of use, effectiveness under a variety of shooting conditions, workflow and efficiency of post-production. Graham Peddie will make an introduction and be the moderator.

 

Graham Peddie
is a Product Strategist with Canon Canada. He has previously worked as a producer, broadcast technician and camera assistant on various film, television and non-broadcast productions and has almost a decade of experience in product management and marketing.

 

Sarah Moffat
has over 15 years of professional experience. In addition to being an excellent cinematographer, she has sat on the IATSE 667 board, the Executive Board of the CSC and the board of the Documentary Organization of Canada.

	Saverio (Sam) Coppola LL.L.- M.B.A. Sam is a senior tax and entertainment lawyer with Gascon & Associates LLP, Montreal, Canada. Summary of Practice Sam operates on a “paper-less” oriented practice and advances the use of technology in the law office.He is a member of the Tax and Commercial Law Group focusing on entertainment, media, tax & commercial law. He is involved in all legal aspects of the production, co-production, financing and distribution of both foreign and Canadian certified film and television productions, including obtaining Canadian federal and provincial tax credits, star contract negotiation, distribution and bank financing.
	Jay Ahn COO/EVP at ToonBox Entertainment Mr. Ahn has 20 years of financing, production and distribution experience in the media and entertainment industry. In February of 2013, he relocated from Seoul to Toronto. Currently, he is the COO/EVP at ToonBox Entertainment, a leading CGI animation studio in Toronto, Canada, while maintaining his position as adviser at sister company, Redrover Korea. Since April 2009, he has been one of the 12 task force members of Contents Industry Upgrade Team, a subdivision of Presidential Council for Future & Vision. From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Ahn taught digital media, convergence and culture content at two universities in Seoul for post-graduates, including courses at the doctoral level.
	Joe Iacono, CPA CA Partner at Weisbord Del Gaudio Iacono PERSONAL SUMMARY Joe Iacono is a partner at the firm Weisbord Del Gaudio Iacono and specializes in the Canadian Television and Film industry. With over twenty-five years’ experience in the industry he is a sought out expert in this area by Canadian and International producers as well as financial institutions, investors, distributors and government agencies. He has participated in various Film and Television committees and has been invited to be a guest speaker on different panels for the Television and Film. Recently he has acted as an Executive Producer on projects where the main focus was the structuring and financing of the project.
	Karine Martin Producer Après s’être consacrée pendant plus de 10 ans au financement de projets télé et cinéma à l’international, Karine Martin produit, en 2009, un premier long métrage, "The Moth Diaries", un film réalisé par Mary Harron ("American Psycho") et sélectionné par les festivals de Venise et de Toronto. L’année suivante, elle produit le film pour la télévision Magic Beyond Words : the J.K. Rowling Story Following over ten years of work in international film and television financing, Karine Martin produced her first feature film entitled The Moth Diaries in 2009. The film, directed by Mary Harron (American Psycho), was nominated at both the Toronto International Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival. The following year, she produced Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story
	David Zitzerman Partner and head of the Entertainment Law Group at Goodmans. He has exclusively practised entertainment law for over 25 years.  His practice focuses on the film, television and multimedia industries in Canada and the United States. His clients include independent producers, Canadian networks, Hollywood studios, U.S. cable services, European broadcasters, film and TV distributors, publishers, game companies, talent guilds and agencies, writers and performers.
