76 Minutes and 15 Seconds with Abbas Kiarostami
The 20th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival will see the screening of one of the last compeleted films by the recently departed beloved master of Iranian cinema – Abbas Kiarostami. The short film Take Me Home is one of the three films that will be screened together for the first time at Cannes film festival in 2017.
The screening, taking place tonight at 8 pm in Apollo Solaris, will include the documentary about the legend 76 Minutes and 15 Seconds with Abbas Kiarostami with director Seifollah Samadian presenting the film in person. The tandem-screening has been selected into the programmes of Venice, Tokyo and Dubai. 76 minutes and 15 seconds is a portrait depicting undiscovered moments of the highly esteemed Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami’s (1940-2016) life and work, in commemoration of his 76 years and 15 days of creative journey. The are compiled out of hundreds of hours of footage filmed during a friendship that spanned 25 years. Seifollah Samadian (b. 1954) is an Iranian artist, photographer and cinematographer. Highly-regarded internationally as an art director with experience working with directors like Martin Scorsese and Abbas Kiarostami, Samadian came to the forefront of critical attention in a wave of Iranian photography that gained momentum in Iranian the arts scene in the years following the 1988 end of the Iran-Iraq war. He has curated photographer exhibits around the world and is a former juror for the Fajr Film Festival. He regularly collaborated with Abbas Kiarostami, and did the camera work on ABC Africa (2001), 5(2003) and Roads of Kiarostami (2005). His filmography includes Tehran: Sa'at-e bist-o panj (Tehran, the 25th Hour, 1999, doc) and 76 Minutes and 15 Seconds with Abbas Kiarostami (2016, doc).

As of 2014 the festival holds the FIAPF accreditation for holding an international competition programme which puts the festival into the so- called A-category of film festivals, alongside other 14 festivals in the world (including Cannes, Berlinale, Venice, Karlovy Vary, San Sebastian, Shanghai, Tokyo etc).
