John Travolta & Oliver Stone received the Donostia award

Last night American actor John Travolta received the Donostia Award, a lifetime achievement recognition.

He´s in San Sebastian to present his latest movie, Savages, with director Oliver Stone who received one
of the Special 60th anniversary Donostia Award at the same gala. 

Savages co-star,actor Benicio del Toro was the master of ceremony.

Travolta has been nominated twice for an Academy Award, one of which was for his brilliant portrayal of a
philosophising hit-man in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction (1994). The part also earned him a BAFTA nomination, a Golden Globe, and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Actor.

Oliver Stone (New York, 1946) is today one of the most emblematic makers of modern American film thanks to his treatment of red-hot social and political topics and his powerful visual style. He won his first Academy Award for the script of Alan Parker's Midnight Express (1978); Platoon,brutal portrayal of the Vietnam War for which offered him the Academy Award for Best Director and carried off the statuette for Best Film. his return to the trauma of Vietnam in Born on the Fourth of July (1989), which garnered him a second Academy Award for Best Director.

Stone's latest film, Savages, is a fast-moving thriller based on Don Winslow's hard-boiled best seller and featuring a star-studded cast headlined by John Travolta, Benicio Del Toro, Taylor Kitsch, Blake Lively, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Salma Hayek, Emile Hirsch and Demian Bichir.
