Ramsgate International Film and TV FestivalSet in England's Royal Harbour, and the stunning location to multiple award winning and acclaimed TV and Film productions, the 4th Ramsgate International Film and TV Festival will show new works and help promote film makers and cultural awareness. Our screenings will be complemented by an international programme of unique events and seminars, with high profile industry professionals. As an organisation committed to raising the bar on diversity, we particularly welcome submissions that embrace the BFI diversity standards. We are honoured and proud that our Patron, BAFTA, Globe and Cannes Best Actress Winner and Oscar-nominated Brenda Blethyn, will select the winner of First Feature Film Category, and will be joined by Award winning guests. Now in its fourth year, the Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival has quickly gained a reputation for screening high quality films and taking care of their film-makers. A beautiful bronze Anchor is awarded to the Best Film of the festival, as well as other prizes including the Brenda Blethyn special award for Best First Feature. www.ramsgateiftvfest.org Peter Corey, Multi BAFTA winner, will judge the Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival’s 48-Hour Youth Challenge.Peter Corey, who has won several BAFTAs for Children's TV Programmes takes on the task of judging the films produced within the 48 hours Youth Challenge. We are very pleased to announce that the multi-award winning children’s television writer, Peter Corey, will judge the Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival’s 48-Hour Youth Challenge. Peter’s amusing children’s book series, Coping With…, was transformed for the television screens, leading to him capturing several BAFTAs including the Children’s Award (in 1996 and 1998) and TV Award (1996). The Coping With… television series also helped Peter to win the Prix Jeunesse and a Writers Guild of Great Britain Award. Festival Director Sylvie Bolioli said: “We are so delighted to have Peter on board to judge the Festival’s 48-Hour Youth Challenge. His books and TV works have brought years of amusement to children (and grown-ups, too!), and it is excellent to have him involved. We feel sure he will really enjoy the Challenge”. The 48-Hour Youth Challenge is set to take place early 2017, ahead of the Festival, so that the best ones can be screened during the Festival. There will be two, aged-based categories – 12-15 and 16-19 year-olds. Entrants will be asked to create short films in 48 hours – over the course of a weekend – set in Ramsgate and/or the surrounding area, on a theme drawn shortly before the Challenge kicks off. More details coming soon.
