We are proud to have one Chilean film representing the best of our industry at Venice, the much-awaited feature El Cristo ciego (The Blind Christ), by Christopher Murray.
For us each and every achievement made by our filmmakers is of great importance, and we salute them joyfully.
After a successful run at Cannes, Berlin, and Locarno, we arrive to Venice with two great directors: in addition to Christopher Murray, the Chilean director Pablo Larraín  will be present with his latest film Jackie (USA-Chile).
 

"EL CRISTO CIEGO" ("THE BLIND CHRIST") by CHRISTOPHER MURRAY
Chile, France, 85’

Michael believes he experienced a divine revelation in the Chilean desert as a child, branding his existence by fire. The neighbours don't believe him and begin to point him out as the village idiot, el Cristo. One evening, a childhood friend is involved in an accident in a remote village. As soon as Michael hears about it, he undertakes a pilgrimage on foot across the desert, convinced that he can heal his friend with a miracle. The story is about a journey through the desperation of a society afflicted with the need for faith, the need to find something or someone to believe in.
