For the first time, a film about what's inside, behind, before, beneath and in the pockets of Italian animation legend Bruno Bozzetto.
OFFICIAL SHOWING AT THE 73rd VENICE FILM FESTIVAL: FRIDAY THE 9th OF SEPTEMBER – 5:00 pm – SALA CASINÒ Additional Screening: Saturday 10th – 11:30 am – Sala Volpi THE FILM of MARCO BONFANTI: “A legend, like my father.” Diane, daughter of Walt Disney. In the beginning, there is a blank sheet of paper. Then a hand and a pencil. In the end, there is a man, the type of man we see every day. Even his surname is a common one: Rossi. But it is as though we are meeting him for the first time, as though all this were new. And that is one of the things cinema can do: make us see everyday things, places and faces in a way we have never seen them before. It's something the protagonist of this film has been doing for over 50 years. He has made more than 300 feature films, short films and animations for television and the web, and he is still at it, loved by millions of viewers around the world. He has received a Golden Bear, an Oscar nomination, and prizes and tributes from all over the world, and he is internationally considered a genius of animation, his name standing beside those of Miyazaki, John Lasseter of Pixar, Nick Park and Matt Groening of The Simpsons (some of whom cite him explicitly as an influence). He is rather reserved when it comes to all the rewards and glories, though, which is another reason why it's always a surprise to discover that he really is a maestro - what some people simply call a legend. He is an Italian, and his name is Bruno Bozzetto. 05.09.2016 | Mostra Internazionale d Arte Cinematografica Venice's blog Cat. : FILM |
